Caroline and Emmett spent the morning painting with watercolors. The creativity and individuality revealed in their pictures is very interesting to me. My little people are amazingly unique creations of God!

Today was a beautiful day here in Texas! We played outside with our new balls and one of us even took a Sunday nap in his swing while the birds sang and a light wind blew! After dinner Caroline requested that we read a chapter of The Horse and His Boy by the fire.

Caroline, Emmett, and Randall are growing up! Emmett started writing his name a couple of weeks ago. He beat Caroline by a few months. He is still 3 and she didn't decide she could do it until her 4th birthday! Randall is crawling and climbing and getting into everything. He insists on having a toy in his mouth at all times. Caroline is working on learning to read. She recently learned the word "was," which she finds to be the most hilarious word ever! Just show it to her in print and she dies laughing! All three of them make life so interesting!
Here are some recent Emmett quotes.
#1, While getting ready for bed...
Emmett- "My mind is always on space."
Mom- "Why?"
Emmett- "Because I have never been out of this world!"
"My mind is on mars men too."
#2, After getting up for the 4th time, when he was supposed to be napping...
Emmett- "I just need a toothpick."
Mom- "Why?"
Emmett- "So I can pick the boogers out of my teeth."
Later that night...
Dad- "Emmett why did you need to pick boogers out of your teeth?"
Emmett- "Well, sometimes when you bite them they get stuck."
#3, While playing cops and robbers with Caroline...
Caroline- "You have the right to remain silent!"
Emmett- "No! It is 'violent!' You have the right to remain violent!"

| Beautiful Feet |
Nearly one year after Randall's birth, we are praising God for the wonderful medical treatment He provided for Randall's foot and for the way the clubfoot responded to the treatment! God has been very gracious to our little man! Take a look at these pictures and rejoice with us! Randall still wears his brace at night (until he is at least 2). So far he has not needed surgery and we are hoping his foot will stay flexible so it will not be necessary in the future. So far, so good. What a wonderful God we serve who has created each one of us perfectly and meets our every need!

I think my little people are the BEST! We have tons of fun playing, talking, and learning every day! Emmett often has "cwever ideas." Caroline is always looking for ways to help. And Randall just keeps getting faster and more curious and more attached to Mommy.
