Rain

That's pretty much what it looks like around here.

It's been raining every day for at least the last week; predictions are for it continue for at least another week. Yesterday, my dad and I went to bring in the trash can from the street. During the few hours between when the garbage man took the lid off the can and when we got to it; at least one foot of water had gathered in the bottom of the can.

Thus we are inside a lot, which drives me crazy because I really like it outside.

Back Home

I'm back from South Carolina!

I had a good time visiting the lake for the first time. Admittedly, I was unable to participate much in any kind of water sports. However, I enjoyed spending several uninterrupted days with my family - especially Uncle Scott & Aunt Kristin, who I don't get to see very much.

We also had fun spending time with our family friends the Lacertes, who flew in to spend a couple of days with us.

My first two plane flights went fine for me - it was my sister who got more bored than I did. I enjoyed talking to my parents, looking out the window, sleeping, and eating a bit more frequently than usual.

Scotia!

I met my Uncle Scott yesterday - he just got back from a mission trip to Africa.. Carrie can never stop talking about Scott and how much fun he is and how much she misses him. I wasn't too sure. He seemed a little shifty, and he still smelled like Uganda.

They all say I'll love him once I get to know him, and I'll have my chance. We're all going to the lake in South Carolina this evening for a few days. That will be a number of firsts for me: first time on a plane, first time out of Texas, etc. I should get to meet my Aunt Kristin, too.

Better Sleep

I had a better night's sleep last night; maybe I'm getting over my insomnia.

I'm having longer times of being awake and I'm more interesting during these time. I like to look around at things like faces and lights and myself in the mirror. I like to sit up against a pillow, or stand up if somebody is holding my hands.

I'm working on some new pictures to post on here; maybe I'll have them up tomorrow.

Insomnia!

I'm afraid I've come down with a bad case of insomnia. I don't really mind it. I find I can get a lot more accomplished in a day if I wake up for good at 3:00 AM. However, my mother is not nearly so keen on the idea. She, along with my father, objects to having one child who is nocturnal and one who is not. I fear that my habits may have to change pronto!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to my Mom & Dad!!

Another Game

I went to another Baseball game last night! OK, I'll admit that I didn't get much out of the last one. I was only a week old, and I was tired, so I slept through most of it. But this one... this one was fun! I was awake the whole time, and watched six innings in their entirety. I was very interested in it, and I look forward to seeing more games. My team, the Rangers, scored five runs against Pittsburgh while I was watching. I saw Mark Texieria hit a home run.

The Rangers ended up winning in 6-5 in 11 innings, but I wasn't there for the end. My sister made us leave after the sixth. Girls just don't understand baseball.

Checking In

Hey, Emmett here checking in.

It's been kind of a boring last few days. We've just been hanging out here at home while my dad continues to recover from his surgery (he's doing much better).

The most noteworthy thing about me lately is that I'm REALLY BIG AND STRONG! Certainly bigger than a breadbox. I can lift my head and move it around, and can stand up if somebody holds my hands. I eat a lot too. Just moved up to size 2 dipers (which is really size three, because the first is "newborn").

That's what I'm up to.
