At Grandma's House!

I've had a fun time the last few days, because I've gotten to be at my grandma and grandpa's house. My whole family has been over here while my dad recovers from the jaw surgery he had this past Thursday. His complete recovery will take a few more weeks, but he is doing well now and getting better every day. I think we get to go home to our house today!

Zeller. Emmett Zeller.

This past weekend's pictures are here! See shots of me dressed up to celebrate my Dad's birthday, at a baseball game, and many others.

Strange Facial Hair

I saw my first strange facial hair this past Saturday in an unexpected place - III Forks Resturant!

My father was able to snap a picture, under the guise of photographing my aunts at the end of the table:

Do you think he is in training for the World Beard and Moustache Championships? I don't think he's quite attained the elite status of some of those guys, but he does have another year or so before the Berlin event.

It's also possible that he aspires to join The Handlebar Club.

Size Update

I am growing!  A visit to the Doctor for measurements confirmed this.  I am now:

10 lbs., 14 oz. (95% percentile)

22.58 inches long (off the charts)

This is a gain of about one inch and two pounds since I left the hospital!  My dad says I have to stop working out with Barry Bonds trainer.

My physical condition was otherwise reported to be excellent.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday was my Dad’s birthday.  Happy Birthday Dad!  We had a fun birthday weekend, involving going out for a steak dinner, opening presents, going to church, and hanging out with family.  Check out the photos which are coming soon here.

I also want to recognize the birth yesterday of my new friend, Nathan Kiningham.

Pictures Down

I apologize to all of my readers who have lately had difficulty viewing pictures on this site.  This has been due to a problem with our server, and should be resolved very soon.

Baseball Game!

I went to my first MLB game last night! Actually, it was my first time at any sport. Along with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and Caroline, I watched and slept through Texas beating Kansas City 6-3. It was a fun game - a lot of action, including two home runs (with accompanying fireworks).

Mom said I couldn't have a hot dog, but I enjoyed the ballpark just the same. It was a little bit loud. Not loud enough, however, to keep me from sleeping through much of the game.

I get to go to my first baseball game tonight!

Dad's Birthday

It has been reported to me, Emmett Zeller, that many of my readers are prepared for my father's birthday coming up on Sunday. Since he is much too humble to share any birthday requests, because I know him better than most I will communicate (in no particular order) some gift ideas:

- A really nice steak, with some potatoes. III Forks, Del Frisco, and Ruth's Chris are good options.

- A showerhead exactly like the one Grandma and Grandpa Zeller have, with a corresponding turn on/turn off control.

- A flatscreen moniter like Luke's for an enhanced study experience.

- A fine detail job on his car, including leather conditioning (it needs it) and possibly airplane gloss. Since we're on the subject of his car, he'd like the antenna fixed as well.

- Yard tools: such items as a Weedeater, Edger, and Blower

- A new keen bathing suit, size XXL

- A new pair of Jeans, size 42x34 (only available online from any store that matters)

- No spare DVDs

Hopefully these ideas will get you thinking along the right lines!

Cousin John?

This from my father:

News Flash:

The man known to the family as "Cousin John," has phoned the Meadowood residence, indicating the possibility of a visit tonight. No further information about the call is available, as he spoke to Hannah. Details to follow.

Some of John T.'s fine work

New Pictures

If you like that one, click below to view pictures of me from a few days ago when I came home from the hospital and my family was here from Califorina. Included are pics of me in the hospital, at home, and on outings to the mall and to the park.

emmettzeller.com?

You may be thinking - "Emmett, why do you have this spare URL instead of emmettzeller.com?"

That's a good question, especially considering that my Father registered emmettzeller.com one whole week ago. We're just waiting on Uncle Luke to set up the hosting. How about it, Uncle Luke?

Now I Have Internet!

Great news! The DSL gods have seen fit to make their service available at 3509 High Countryside Dr. Now, I can do my updates directly from home instead of sending them to work with Dad!

First Outings

I should let you, faithful blog readers, know about my first outings into the world beyond home and the hospital. On the evening of Friday, 5/14, we went to Starbucks and Milwaukee Joe's at Southlake Town Center. Saturday, 5/15, I had my first meal out at my Uncle Bob's favorite - Baker Bros. Deli. Sunday we went to church, and today I went to Flying Fish for lunch and then to Toys R Us.

Mongo's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my Great-Grandma Mongo! (a.k.a. Dorothy Zeller)

Held all Day

I set a record for being held the most in one day today. From 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, I was held in someone's arms 97.9% of the time. With parents, grandparents, an aunt, neighbors, and other friends around, they all want their turn. That is fine with me! I am much happier being held than anywhere else.

First time at Church

I went to church today for the first time! I went to the Adult Sunday School with my mom, grandparents, and Aunt Abby. I slept through the first ten minutes of my Dad's lesson on Ephesians 2:1-10, and then I became hungry and had to leave the room.

My sister has eight teeth coming in and is a bit of a basketcase (Dad says women tend to be that way). Because of this, we took her home to bed rather than staying for the second service.

We did return to church for the evening service. At that service, I fussed during the singing but went to sleep and slept through the sermon.

Scott's Birthday

Happy 20th Birthday to my Uncle Scott!!! Hope everything is well in
Uganda! I'm glad your birthday is so close to mine.

Grandparents and Abby

My grandparents and Aunt Abby came out from California to meet me! They almost didn't make it because there was a big thunder and lightening storm. It is very fun to have them. My grandpa especially likes to sit and hold me.

Caroline has a cold and a fever and a lot of new teeth coming in. We
are hoping she gets better soon.

I'm still not at all sure about this going to sleep in a bed thing. I would much rather be held. Why lie down to sleep when I'll be hungry in another 30 minutes anyway? I'm a growing boy, so I need to eat a lot. My mom is very nice about taking care of me and feeding me.

Better Sleep tonight!

I slept better last night than I did my first couple of nights! I did get hungry and eat every three hours or so, but right back to sleep after that.

Home for the first time

I finally got to come home from that hospital! My first night was good. I got to play with my sister, try various beds, and eat a lot. My favorite place to sleep for now is in my car seat.

I put some pics up on my sister's website: http://www.carriezeller.com

Emmett is Born!

Below is a note my Dad sent out to a bunch of people:

I’m proud to announce the birth of Emmett Scott Zeller yesterday (5/10) at 5:30 PM. He weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz., and is 21 inches long. We thank God for bringing him and Heather both safely through the delivery. They are both doing very well.

“Emmett” is the Hebrew word for “truth.” As our son comes into a world where truth is increasingly viewed as subjective and relative, we want him to know that there is such a thing as absolute truth, and that it is found in God and in His Word. The Bible uses this word in many places, a few of which come to mind:

Psalm 115:1 “Not to us, O LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth.”

2 Samuel 7:28 “Now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are truth”

Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth”

Emmett’s middle name, “Scott,” is in honor of his uncle Scott Zeller. We pray that Emmett would come to have the same love for God and love for people that is so evident in Scott’s life.
