Little Zellers

This website keeps track of the activities of the little Zellers - Caroline, Emmett, and Randall

Our Summer

We've had a busy summer. Lydia, our cousin, was born in late April. Mommy and Daddy went on a vacation and we had a week long sleepover with Mala and Grandpa in May. We had two visits from Mala Gail and Papa John (+1 another quick visit from Mala Gail) between May and July. San Diego and St. Louis members of the extended Zeller clan came to visit in July. And all of that was before two weddings and a lake vacation on the East Coast! These pictures are a bit of a random sampling of what we have been up to.

Misc Summer Fun 08

Lake Keowee Summer 2008

Lake Keowee su08

We got to spend almost 2 weeks at the lake between weddings. It was a perfect vacation! The big kids loved the water this year and were able to put on their own suits and life-jackets (this alone made the time relaxing!). Randall was amazingly calm in the water. He loved the big "pool." Enjoy the pictures and keep your eye out for some forthcoming video footage. Gotta love the goggles!

Kindergarten!

Today was a big day in the Zeller home. Caroline Grace started kindergarten! We cannot believe she is 5 and ready for school! She seemed to have a wonderful time. She quickly and joyfully waved goodbye when we dropped her off. I think we are going to miss her more than she will miss us :) The saddest moment of the day was when I overheard Emmett calling for "Lucy" so they could enter the world of Narnia they so love to spend the day in. Sadly "Caspian's" "Lucy" was nowhere to be found this morning! When we picked our princess up at lunch, she announced "I didn't learn anything today, but my teacher is so nice and fun that that is ok. Whatever she does is fine."

Kindergarten 08

Emmett is Cool because...

#1- he has big ideas. He recently came in from playing outside just to ask, "Mom, Carowine and I need to cut a wog. Can I please have a reawy big knife? I told her I would be reawy careful." Upon further questioning it was discovered that they were "making wood" and needed to cut a log into boards. Pretty cool idea, but I didn't give him the knife!

#2- he doesn't care what other people think. He recently got to go with just Mala and Mommy to buy wedding shoes and socks. After the purchase, he wore them proudly through Northpark (Dallas' high end mall) with his shorts!

#3- he is not afraid of bugs and will drop everything to save his sister from one, even if she is in the shower (at least it gave him an excuse to get wet!). He recently woke me up just to show me that he had been able to catch one of his "favorite kinds of beetles" (translated: a cockroach) that had caused Caroline to scream in terror and wake him up to save her at 6:30AM.

#4- he has amazing "super powers!" Just ask him next time you see him and he will gladly demonstrate. He might even assign one or two to you!

4th of July Family Fun

4th of July Week

We spent the 4th of July week with the Gunter Family and Mala Gail and Papa John. Our cousin Ellie turned 2 on Independence Day. We enjoyed eating cupcakes and watching fireworks with her.

Clubfoot Update- 15 months

It has been a while since we updated y'all concerning Randall's clubfoot. The foot is doing wonderfully. The doctors at Scottish Rite are very pleased with his progress. We are a bit concerned since he is 15 months and still not walking or even standing for more than a second on his own, but then again, maybe he is just too busy crawling, cruising along the furniture, and climbing to worry about walking. He continues to wear his brace at night and will do so until he is at least 2. As you can see from this video, it does not slow him down a bit. In fact he is very pleased to see his shoes at bed time. His ever expanding vocabulary includes "good shoes" and "bar."

Bang! Bang!

It was discovered this evening that Randall knows how to play with toy guns. He thinks it is hilarious to yell "Bang! Bang!" and watch his siblings and father fall over!

Just for Fun

We had a quick photo shoot the other day so Carrie and Emmett could make collages to send to Kate and Hannah at Kamp. We hope y'all enjoy these silly pictures too!
Funny Faces

Randall and Angela

Randall has decided that his soon to be aunt, Angela, is one of his favorite people. He gets VERY excited when he sees pictures of her and shouts "Ange" over and over. It used to be Scott he couldn't wait to see, but I think those days may be a thing of the past!

More Swimming Fun

Summer has Arrived!

Summertime!!!

Texas is heating up! With a long, hot summer in front of us, we purchased a pool to help keep us cool. Carrie and Emmett thought it was great! Randall was content to watch and splash a bit with his hands. He was devastated when Carrie picked him up and dropped him in. Too cold maybe? We will have to keep trying. I think I know where Carrie and Emmett will spend June and July!

Emmett is 4!

Emmett's Birthday

Emmett turned 4 on May 10th! We had a party to celebrate Emmett's birthday as well as Uncle Scott's birthday and graduation from DTS.

Texas Spring

Springtime

We have been enjoying a beautiful Texas spring! Here are some pictures that show how much we have been enjoying God's creation, each other, climbing, and our... err... I mean Snort's... train table!

The Gospel Fuzzie Song

Emmett and Caroline have wonderful Sunday school teachers! They get VERY upset if they miss because missing means not getting to spend time with Mrs. Buster and Jamie or Mr. and Mrs. Roberts and not getting to learn the lesson or do the great projects. Mrs. Roberts has been teaching them The Gospel Fuzzy Song and made them all Gospel Fuzzy gloves for Easter so they could come home and sing it to us. Emmett loves his glove and the song. He even sang it the other day for "Downstairs Maria" at Mala and Grandpa's house. So, without further a due here is Emmett performing The Gospel Fuzzy Song just for you!

"We are the Gospel Fuzzies (x3) and we won't hurt a flea.
Gold stands for heaven (x3) where I want to go.
Dark means I'm a sinner (x3) and I can't get in.
Red means Jesus died (x3) and He rose again.
White means I'm forgiven (x3) as I trust in Him.
Green means that I'm growing (x3) as I follow Him."

Who's Playing?

Eric interviewed Caroline during the game last night and it quickly became apparent that her mind was not on baseball. She usually has an answer for everything, but one of Daddy's questions left her speechless! It is a good thing her brother NEVER forgets anything (excluding our instructions!).
